Key Sense wire on 1993 300D....
Is there such a thing on this car? If so, does this wire control the mechanism that opens and closes in the engine bay that cuts off the fuel(i think) into the engine? I have a Viper alarm system and the remote start will not start my car do to the fact that this lever does not lift when the remote start is activated. It only lifts when key is in ignition and in ON position...
Can this be done? thanks in advance... Mario |
Nope!
When you turn the key in your car you are releasing vacuum from the shut off valve, turning on the glow-plugs and completing the circut to turn the starter.

which in laymens terms means????
thanks... Mario |
It means that electricity doesn't control the fuel shut-off. It's controlled by vacuum. I don't know if it's possible to make a remote starter work, because of this...sorry

The remote start can certainly work with diesels. Just take it to any decent shop who are certified to install DEI units. The reason I say this is because Viper won't warrant installs done privately. For info regarding installations, take a look at www.the12volt.com
I'd really suggest you get this done professionaly to save yourself the hassle, and to keep the lifetime warranty provided by DEI units (which includes viper). |
