300cdt fuel gage / tach

I've just purchased a 1983 300 cd-t to replace my '82 which was recently involved in an accident. The fuel gage on the '83 does not work at all and the tachometer only works occationally. My thinking is some type of sending unit is probably the problem with the gage and possibly a cable problem with the tach. Does anyone have any input on these?

Also, does any know where I could advertise and sell the '82 as a parts car?

The assumption on the fuel gauge is likely the case, there has been a fairly lengthy thread on that very subject recently. Just use the search feature of the forums. The tach problem is often the little round black cylinder on the drivers fender well under the hood. Again use the search feature, as there have been many postings on that subject!! Why not keep the wrecked CD as a parts car yourself, seems like these items you are wondering about worked on the old one???

Lycoming-8 - thanks for the info. I agree it does make sence to keep the old car as a parts donor.......however I must also consider preserving domestic tranquility. My better half has not yet warmed up to the idea keeping the '82 coupe.
