What do you guys think? (1984 240D)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2401561449&category=6329
What do you guys think of this? I thought they didn't make the 240D in 1984? I guess they did. It looks pretty nice ... im thinking of bidding then fly down and drive it back... (depending on how expensive it becomes) I don't like the color too much but it looks like a classic taxi cab with the 240D's power i'll appreciate my 300CD when I drive it hehehe..

nice car. I cant tell what color that dash is, looks kind of goldish. I was expecting to see more signs of a euro as the 240Ds were made through 1985 but '83' was the last year they were imported into the US, I think. Good luck

Checked it for free on Carfax and it says that it's an 83 240D!
Not an 84! |

gotta call these guys and find out what they mean by rust spots. I don't need another rust bucket (already got one)
However depending on the price I guess it could still be a nice car! I really like the idea of driving a stick shift diesel but I doubt that it's gonna sell for what I'm thinking of paying for it ($1200) |

240D's were made in 84 and 85, they were just euro's. my sister in Wash DC has a 1984 240D euro. they came with alloy wheels and a few other amenities not previously ascribed.

Rick is right about the registration, some places will register a 1983 model as a 1984, if its sold in 1984. It looks like you might be able to get it for $1200, but remember this car has those wheel covers that you have been always dreaming about.

I have an '84 240D, but it is a Euro model. The car in the picture is most definitely a US model. It can't be a true '84 model.
It looks decent, but we are just not accustomed to rust AT ALL here, so the smallest amount of rust kind of turns me off right away. Best of luck, |

There are a couple of negative feedbacks on that seller. I would take that into consideration when deciding how much to bid.
