Nailing
Question: What is Nailing? What does it sound like? (Should this be obvious? I've owned my 85 300TDT for 5 months now - first MB). Thanks.

Sounds like pounding a big nail into a concrete slab.

Maybe sounds more like someone driving a barn nail into oak -- but it is not anything you normally hear.
Very loud, sharp clack -- another "sound alike" is a large steel hammer smacking the block. Peter

Thanks for the description - I don't believe I've heard that one.

In my experience, Nailing is a very subtle noise. Kind of like jiggiling loose change in a glass jar while accelerating.
Injector Knock is a loud, hollow thud that sounds like someone driving a nail into a piece of wood. ..correct me if i'm wrong.. |
