day from hell

What a day yesterday ended up being. Got up at 5AM to drive to West Palm Beach for a convention. 18 miles north of WBP while doing about 80 something cut my rt. rear tire and it was an instant flat with chunks of rubber going everywhere. Not a big deal, car was easy to get off the road. So I change the tire out and continue down the road. Not 5 minutes later I get a cell call that my main webserver just went offline and the tech can't figure out what the problem is. So after an hour on the phone going through the checklist with no results I have to turn around and do the three + hour drive back home. Then when I'm out in the middle of state road 70 in the middle of nowhere my primary fuel filter clogs up and kills the car. Guess bad fuel in Indian Town was the cause. Only bright spot of the day was I always carry extra filters so besides smelling like diesel (note to self put a box of wet wipes in trunk) I did get back on the road in 15 minutes or so.
At least the car didn't let me down, in almost 60k miles over three years it has yet had to be towed.

That is bad... there is some old saying that bad things come in ' threes'... so keep your eyes open still...
Did you make it to the convention ?

in threes

I had that in the back of my mind about the time the fuel filter plugged up. That WAS number three. tire, servers, fuel. I stopped in the next tiny town and bought a lotto ticket
And yes I went to the convention and had lunch. No doubt pissed off some web customers who had to wait a couple more hours for me to get home and figure out what was wrong with my network.

And if you figure it was a rear tire, one of my Michelins then it was number 4. How I managed to miss whatever I hit with the front tire I don't know. I heard something hit the car then a roar as the tire went flat. First thought was $hit, there goes an axel boot. Sounded the same as it did when one of those went. After I got off the road and got out there was quite a bit of smoke from the rear. I couldn't see it was the tire and I figured I was screwed. When I saw it was "only" the tire I was fine with it. Been drivng for 26 years and have only had two flats while driving my cars. (several while driving trucks but I was paid for those so didn't care at the time) It wasn't till I got the call from my tech that I knew the day was going to hell in a handbasket

Yeah, that is a good question.. are you so far out of alignment that you are tracking down the road like a crab ? That would allow you to hit something with the rear tire and not the front.
You know both ends of these cars need to be aligned...
