How often do you really change your ATF?

It is coming up on the 15,000 mile mark on both of my cars and I was wondering how many of you actually change your ATF on the 15K interval that (I think) MB recommends.

I go 30K between changes of Mobil1 ATF. Fluid comes out as red and as fresh smelling as the day it went in.

You forgot the other choice, "Never/I don't care for automatic transmissions so I drive a manual."

That's one of the many reasons that I don't drive an a/t. The extra maintenance is a PITA.

My $0.02,

I changed mine right around the 15,000 mile mark. Then a few months later I had a rebuilt transmission installed because the front pump failed when the tourque converter failed. My lesson learned here, I will try to not buy a car with an automatic next time.

I think that every 30K might be overkill if you are using synthetic atf and do mostly highway driving/no towing minimum stop-n-go. I am tempted to push it to 50-60K. RT

About every 20k on dino Valvoline ATF. I drive the car hard so I change the tranny fluid a little sooner.

Not enough options on the poll. Mine is a "sealed for life" unit that is supposed to never need service. I'm having the fluid changed every 60K.

Every 15K with dino ATF. That includes filter change and draining the torque converter.
