Thumbs down Warm Day - Engine ran hot...

I'm starting to wonder if I really should sell my car..

I don't use my car too much during school days just because I really prefer to walk to classes.

Today I decided to take it out for a spin. After a bit of driving the water temp was about 95C! The weather outside is a little warm today at 44F.

I figured that the T-stat didn't open. Stopped for a bit and yes, the lower radiator hose (after the T-stat) was cold to touch and the upper rad hose was pretty warm.

It didn't overheat, but it concerned me....

Any thoughts?

Could it be linked to the lack of use / sudden temperature change.

The engine just had its valves adjusted on Friday and T-Chain checked out.

Maybe the thermostat was just being stupid or something just because it probably never opened when it was some 10F outside (last week)

The T-stat was replaced early in Fall and has worked great ever since.

I have also noticed that my engine starts to shake whenever the weather gets warmer. After a while it settles and it's fine until the next rise in temp.

Where does it normally run Holson? Mine holds steady at 90-95C which is about 195-200F which seems fine to me.... Sometimes T-stats "spike" the temp when it first starts to rise then they seem to stabilize out. At least thats my experience. RT

FWIW, mine also runs consistently at 90c.

I guess maybe I'm just not used to it because I've had the heater on 24/7 for the past few weeks and the water was always at 85C or even lower...
