Injector pump 1991 350 sd
Noticed car statting to black smoke under load . Then started to see fuel around injector pump. Now right after statrt up it is covering the top of the injector pump. Have checked all the injector lines, they are not leaking. Fuel appears to be coming up from the injector line conector nipples(dont know proper name)At top of injector pump. can I replace a gasket or O ring without getting the pump rebuilt or removing it? Car has 190,000 runs soild, just do not want to pull the injector pump in freezing weather with no garage. thanks for any help.

Yes, there are o-rings under the delivery valves that can be replaced without pulling the pump. you need a special socket to pull the valve and they must be torqued correctly when reinstalling or the pump body may warp. It should help with the leak but the black smoke is due to something else.
