'81 300SD.....what's it worth?
This car is for sale on a BB at my workplace.

Not sure how a leaky valve cover gasket can cause a piston to seize unless it was run without oil. If that is the case there will probably be more damage than just the piston. There are a couple more things that could mess up a piston - top edge break and running to hot come to mind. You can rebuild these engines or find one on ebay and install it. I would not offer much more than around $500. Email me the phone number/contact and I will give it a once over if you are interested.
