Brake Fluid Loss
Question for the board.
My 85 300 D keeps leaking from the front passenger side brake caliper. I haven't pulled the wheel yet, but suspect that the seals are shot. Any idea as to the $$$ involved in removing the offending seals and re-installing new ones? Thanks in advance, Chad |

Caliper seal kits are <$25. It's a fairly easy DIY job, or a couple of hours labor by a pro to rebuild the caliper and bleed the brakes.
However, you may just have a leaky hose or leaking bleed screw? Good luck.

Chad, when in need of parts pricing I usually go the Fastlane link at the top of this forum.
Some may disagree but they have been very fair and square dealing with me and the parts arrive quickly... You can look up by your year and model and just browse around the parts.. Also Phil (his numebr is liosted there) is a very, very helpful guy if you can't find something in the catalog. Also www.************************ has a really good library of images available that you can peruse at yoru leaisure to see what parts make up what areas of the vehicle. between these two you should be pretty well set. I use each one almost daily in my quest for knowledge. p.s. Fastlane/mercedesshop help support this board with the server space...get the hint?
