Wasn't there a Maynard Smith that won the CMH in WW2?

There is a guy that works across the parking lot from me in my ofice park that is selling a gray 300SDL. I believe it is an 85. It also looks decent. Needs paint on the hood...it has faded. The body is straight though and it runs great.

Thanks for the correction Bill. I have never been too knowledgable about the Bigger Benz. I do like them though. My mechanic gave me one as a loaner a few weeks ago while he was working on mine for the day. What a nice ride!!!

Maybe one day I'll trade in one of mine for a bigger one.

I thought red dot keys were phased out by 87.

I have a red dot key for my 89 300SE. And a red dot on the Y-shaped wallet key as well. Never knew what the red dot is for though.

I have a red dot key too.. dunno what it means.

Looking good.. I'm not too crazy about the chrome fender trim or the chrome wheels, but I'm too conservitive

Good luck with it!

If you lock the car with a red dot key you have to open it with a red dot key or the alarm will sound.

The dot is just a dot. The difference is in how the key is cut. I don't know if replacements the dealers offer today have the dot.

It was definitely gone by 91.

My uncle's 86 SDL has a dotless key and it activates and deactivates the alarm..
