Climate Control Problem
Hello!
(1) I'm having some minor trouble with the climate control on my 87 190 turbo diesel. The heater is working ok, but after a while when the system begins to cycle the air becomes cold for a while then lukewarm and then back to heat. (2) The blower motor occasionally stops in speeds II and III and won't come back on for a while. Usually after stopping and getting back in the vehcile. I did some looking around and it appears the auxillary water pump is new or it might be just clean from washing the engine?? Any help is appreciated!! Thanks! |

Kind of a related question - what temperature does your engine run at? The first symptom you describe could be thermostat related (?). The second one sounds like the equivalent of the blower relay in an American car going bad. At least this post will get you back to the top of the list for a spell and maybe someone who knows what they are talking about will step up and help.

The engine temperature runs pretty constant around 80. Sometimes under hard acceleration or hills it might move a needles width above the 80 mark.

If this was a SD or a 300D I'd say the first problem sounds like the foam tube that connects the sensor and air tube has disintegrated. If the foam disintegrates the sensor meausre the temp. behind the dash or wherever it may be mounted. Are the 201's set up the same way with their ACC.
