What a shame, to have such a nice car for 20 years and only put 58k miles on it.... So I take it someone is looking for another SDL? I have enough cars... for now, but I am always watching ebay.

TD:

I notice that you like the SD's and SDL's. What advantage do you find over the 123's?
Also, how is it that the SD's and SDL's often produce better mpg? I can't figure that one out.

Don

I love the feel and ride of the 126.. so sturdy and strong.. like a vault. It's the king of the highway. The 123 holds a special place in my heart but I would rather travel in a 126.

I *think* the 126 is more aerodynamic than the 123.. I dont know about better fuel mileage for the 126 but there is not much difference.

The reason the 300SD sits is that they want ~$9000 for it on their web site. For a 1983, we dieselers aren't that free with our money. Heck, I heard TXBill never pays over $1.99 for any of his.

Hey TXBill!

TXBill,

You wouldn't mind if I bought that SD from your mechanic's customer would ya? What's the number?

I drove an '81 300Sd today and fell in love with it!!! I have got to find me another one around here in South Carolina. The one I drove today is too little car for the price they are asking. They want my '82 240D and $2,000! I don't think so!

There is a 300SD in this area for sale and it is showing only 170k miles. Don't know the condition or price, just saw it on the lot on Sunday and took a look at the miles. The exterior does not look too bad.

I just drove a really nice 82 SD. I lost two days of sleep wondering if I should buy it, but as I already have a nice one, I guess it just doesn't make sense. It has 192k on it with a stack of records back to about 100k I think. Brown leather (ick) is in really great shape, almost perfect... The gold exterior (ick) is very good, although it's had some paint work done. It looks rust free and pretty nice. They are asking $4500 but I would have offered about $3000 or so.
