Engine Oil Reference Thread

Did a 'search' on "Oil" and got 55 pages of 'hits'
and realized that it might be useful to have a thread
where we only post our ..

model
oil used
change interval

No discussions pro/con ..
No oil wars ..

Just post what you actually use in your vehicle ..

Thanks for everyone's input and
for sticking with the 'format'

86 Isuzu T/D P'up Delvac1 5w40 5000
99 Taurus Mobil1 0w40 5000

The Isuzu is leaking badly since change to synthetic. Will have to go back to dino oil. The other cars seem to love the synthetics.

300D & Jetta get Delo400 5w-40 synthetic, truck gets dino Delo but will change to synthetic at next change. RT

I use 15W-40 Delo 400 on both the 300D and the F-250 (both are diesels); try to change every 3000 miles. I also put one can of Seafoam in the crankcase right before dumping the oil, to facilitate oil gallery clean-up...so far, so good :)

I'm too chicken to go the synthetic route...

1983 300D: Delvac1 5w-40 (winter, 5k) Delvac 1300 Super 15w-40 (summer, 3k), mann filter (from now on, I am going to use delvac 1300super year round, mixed 50/50 with delvac 1in the winter to allow better oil flow, but keep my moly coating, moly is only in 1300s, not d1)

1991 BMW 318i: Pennzoil long life 15w-40 (3000 mi), (may switch to mobil1 15w-50 instead for cold flow characteristics and longer drain intervals, but like the dose of moly in long life.. the jury is out on what Ill use next time), mahle filter

1998 Chevrolet S-10 ZR2: Castrol GTX 5w-30 (every 6mo or 3k) w/ wal-mart super tech filter (changed every 3mo.)

Mother's 97 Plymouth Breeze: Moibil1 5w-30 with 1-2 qts 0w-30 in the winter (3 months). (only gets driven 1/2 mi twice a day), supertech filter.

Father's 94 Toyota previa: Kendall 10w-30 (5-7000mi), OEM toyota filter
