240 D Dash Replacement

I am replacing the dash board on my 240D. I have looked at the other links and found nothing specific to my vehicle which does not have automatic airconditioning and heating controls (they are manual).

Can you please provide helpful hints to completing the process. Also, I want to only make one trip to the dealer, what all should I buy in advance to replace anything that may go bad in the near or distant future. (e.g. heater hoses, heater cores, bulbs, hoses, vacuum switches or diaphrams, switches, etc.) I have a rheostat ready to go in and have replaced the clock and had the speedo rebuilt.

On my car do I need to pull the wheel or just lower the sterring column or both?

Darryn
