Injector seal rings?...size and source?

I am slowly trying to get the 79 240D running. I was interested in an earlier thread that addressed injector seal rings.

What is the correct size for the 240D? I see 10mm and 7.5 mm as the two options.

The seal ring was redesigned in 1981. At the same time the SD 220 nozzle was superceded by the SD240/.
you have to also understand that these new rings are only 7.5 mm whereas the orifice into the prechamber on this car is the old 10mm.
was told that this ring is the "new" one by both Mercedes and Fastlane. The old 10mm ring was replaced with this 7.5mm supposedly. My opening in the prechamber is 10mm so whatever metal is inside this is just hanging out so the seal that can be made to the injector around the pintle is minimal at best due to the fact that the crush ring is not being crushed against the prechamber seat.

What is the correct size and why can I not find them listed in Fastlanes online catalog? I see Injector "shim" but not seal rings.

Thanks

Bennett

You'll find them under "injector heat shield" on the FastLane catalog. Both 7.5 and 10.0 have the exact same part #, so it looks like there is only one to choose. "any color, as long as it's black" H. Ford.

In all the injector changes that I have been making I have only found the 7.5 mm as an option.

My 75 240 originally came with 10mm rings.

I found my local dealer had them for cheaper than anybody but it may have been old stock...
