Horn- fuse blowing
My 1985 300sd, is blowing the fuse for the horn every time the ignition is turned on, any ideas what could cause this. Also would there be any problems if regular tranny fluid is mixed with synthetic fluid. I'm thinking of using syn. fluid in my pathfinder.

Drew,
Some where there is a short circuit in the horn circuit. A relay operates the horn when the horn pad on steering wheel grounds the relay. I would find the relay and start checking the relay and wires. As far a mixing syn and dino ATF, if you completely drain the transmission and torque converter, there wouldn't be much Dino ATF to mix with the SYN ATF. Seems like on all bottles of SYN oil I've seen, it says that the SYN oil is compatible with Dino oils. P E H Last edited by P.E.Haiges; 03-22-2003 at 08:45 PM. |
