300TD-T help...please

Hello everyone. I am new to this site as well as new to MB ownership.

I purchased an 80 TD that had a new motor (turbo) / trans and other work done on it. Basically it was taken apart about 8 years ago (it was to be the personal car of a MB shop owner) and assembled over time. It took him so long that I wanted to check things out to make sure it was put back together properly.

A number of items are not right and although I can take it back to him, I prefer to do it myself knowing it's done right.

The first area I need help in is the routing of the vacuum lines in the engine compartment. I know it isn't right.

The line from the manifold goes directly to the ALDA. The plastic housing (vacuum control?) mounted on the injector had a line going from the top to the side.

The pressure switch on the manifold has nothing attached to it (I assume it is to connect to something?

The group of vacuum lines mounted on top of the valve cover has a number of hoses missing.

Although I have not started it up as yet (pulled out the interior to really clean it right) What I did so far.

1. From a tee I am feeding vacuum to the top of the plastic vacuum control mounted on the Injector Pump. From the side I have connected the line to the trans.

2. From another part of the tee, I ran it to the central locking.

I bought Chilton’s and Haynes manuals kind of a joke.

If anyone has a close-up picture of these lines and or any advice about how to get this straight I would be grateful.

Also, is there the possibility of damage to the engine with the pressure switch issue and or the manifold line going directly to the ALDA?

Thank you in advance!!
