B2 Piston in tranny?
With respect to the 82 300D T being advertised on the classified's section of this site. The one with the B2 piston problem. What is the B2 piston? What is it's problem? And is this something I should be worried about when looking at an auto 123 or 126?
Sorry if this is a repeat of an old issue but I've not found reference to it elsewhere on the site. - Peter. |

B2 piston
the B2 piston is a part in the transmission(on the right side of trans). These have a tendency to go bad. When ours went bad the car would not move!as if it was in neutral. The part is approx. $100.The trans on a 123 needs to be pulled to replace this, but on a 126 the trans does not need to be pulled. It is a good preventative maintenance measure to replace this part if it has not been done before.

Good luck.
I've sent three e-mails to the owner of the 300TD with the bad B2 valve. No responses.
