Angry losing power

Hi Everyone, I have a 240D that just the other day started to lose power, almost lie I was running out of fuel, I checked both oils and fuel and both were full, and when I tried to restart the Benz, it sounded like the starter was shot.

Any ideas??

Thanks

I can't speak to the starter, someone else could probably help you with that, but when was the last time you changed your fuel filters? Once I was going up a hill in New Hampshire and the car started to bog down and I had to pull over and slowly climb it on the shoulder. The concierge at the hotel (I didn't know or care about cars at the time) who fixed it for me said that my problem was caused by clogged fuel filters.

Give that a try. Even if it's not the filters causing your problem, it's a good, easy bit of maintenance. If you're not in a hurry to get them (if you order today they'll probably get to you by Wednesday), order from FastLane at the top of this page.

Dobey,

First replace the primary (inline) filter and test drive. If that solves the problem, you have it fixed. If not, replace the secondary (can)filter also and test drive. If this still doesn't solve the problem, there is one more filter in the tank that might need cleaning.
