Oil cooler leaks
Hi All,
I am starting to worry now about my oil cooler and oil lines. I noticed the oil cooler seems to be wet from the top down. I would it expect it to be dry. My question is will a donor oil cooler from a 84sd work on a 116 80 model sd they look the same to me but I want to make sure. the top oil cooler line is dry, the bottom oil line has a wet film around it but does not drip. Thanks |

damaging cooler
Problem is it is verrrrrrrrrry easy to damage the cooler when you remove the lines. With my recent problems I am inclinded to say. and others have mentioned it to in my searching for a solution, that if you have a doner cooler, take the lines from the donor car removed "at the engine". Dont touch the lines on the cooler's surface.
If.. you dare take the cooler lines off the cooler then make sure u put a wrench on the nut that is located next to the coolers surface. This nut is to be held to prevent damaging the cheasy alluminum the cooler is made of. |
