123 TD headrest removal
This is a dumb question, but how the %&!@ do I remove the triple headrests in the backseat? I know M-B didn't intend for me to use a hacksaw on the chrome posts...
The manual doesn't say anything about this, wondering if the PO put them in incorrectly? What am I missing...? Thanks! JAS |

There is a button that is sort of flush on the backside of the seat in line with the shaft. Push it while you pull up.

Thanks!
Much easier and neater than a hacksaw....

Jas2wa-
Do you not like the rear headrests in the wagon? What color is your interior? If you ever want to sell them later on, I hope one day we have another wagon, and if it doesn't have them I may like to buy them from you. My dad had a champagne with tan interior wagon I just loved to death. It had the 3rd seat with the 3 rear headrests. I think the middle seat looks better with them in place, than with nothing there. -Jamie |

You need to pull um out to fold the seat flat.

Daimler-
Yeah, I just needed to pull them out to fold the seats all the way down- I LOVE how the triple headrests look in the backseat- one of the best looking parts of the 84-85 TD's. My interior is navy leather (not tex, and yes, I know the difference...) Sorry, not going to part with my headrests....! -JAS |
