Drag link bow
I started to work on the front suspension today. I decided to do the front in 2 or 3 weekends, that way it can be driven during the week.
It would seem that the previous owner drove up and ontop of something that bent the drag link. Couldn't see it untill I pulled it This weekend, idle arm, drag link (center tie rod) and tie rods. I also found holes in the muffler so added to this weekends list is replacing the exhaust fromt he header pipe through to the tailpipe. Next Weekend ball joints, lower control arm bushings, guide rod / mounts, coil springs, shocks. sub frame bushings. 3rd phase steering box, rotors, pads and wheel bearings. Based on what I paid for the car and my ever increasing revised estimates (upward) it's a good thing my wife really likes the 300TD-T !! Actually I am getting away cheap compared to a new SUV...I think (not done yet).

Just noticed #23 on your "to do" list was to fix the turbo oil drain seals (common leak). I found it is MUCH easier to simply remove the entire turbocharger, then replace the seals! Otherwise, getting those pipes off & separated, and getting the seals in & out, is a huge pain with the turbo in place. There are only 4 nuts holding it to the exhaust manifold, took me about 4 hours start to finish I think. Now it's 100% leak free in that area - woo-hoo!
