TURBO Update
I had reported that the Turbo in the new 1981 TD had gone south. I'm pleased to report that the "hairpins in the blender" noise was a poor fitting breather tube on the underside of the air filter housing. The attachmnet rubber is shot for the housing (surprise) and thus the whole unit shifts about and attachments are poor. So, the vibrations from the spinning turbo set off the breather tube-a.f. housing connection like angry bees in a tin can. I feel as if I dodged a bullet since I had convinced myself of the need for a replacement turbo.

It always nice to get a positive surprise, thing is I think the ratio for me is 1 positve for each 10 negatives.
Very cool on a potential big $$ part.
