What's up with this configuration? Doesn't look like mine...

85s are like that. You should see the California ones with a trap oxidizer.

Configuration

I think with that config. the hood pad with the heat shield would be very appropriate.

That is a California car, at least it looks just like my '85 CD. The trap oxidizer looks like a silver football is below the turbo. The owner says it's been a southern car all it's life.......hmmmmm, I don't understand. I think some Federal versions had the same motor as the CA version.

It sure has a lot more "crap" on the engine than my 116 300SD. Thats why I like the 116 better than the 126.

Doesn't look like my 85 under the hood. I wouldn't mind having the air filter on mine where it didn't get shook up so much though.
