Excessive smoke on start up?! Cough...weeez!

Hey all,

Well, it didn't used to do it everytime, but now it does. I mean, it looks like my 80 240D is freakin on fire, with blue smoke...it has come to the point where it is embarrassing. What's going on with this? I just replaced fuel filters, a glowplug, oil change, airfilter, hand pump...that kinda stuff. Is this normal, I mean I have had starts where it starts up like a "normal" car...but lately, sheesh! I don't think the weather is too blame either. Or could it...if anything it has gotten warmer, not colder. When I go to start it I wait for the light to turn off, then crank it while giving it some gas- my fast idle knob doesn't work, and it plumes...I can also feel the cylinders catching almost...like one fires up, then I feel the second starting, then eventually all of them...meanwhile my foot is still on the pedal with the same resistance and the RPMS pick up each time a cyclinders "starts" up...and eventually after I sit for about a minute I can drive off.... and the more it "warms" up the lesser amount of plumage I get (basically none). Thoughts?

Thanks,
-Kurt

P.s. Hot damn that is a sweet looking ride....
