Dealer installed new MAS and a rebuilt injection pump and replaced head gasket. now the car shakes while ideling and occasionally it feels like something cuts out and rpm drops for a second also clatters like hell my old 83 wasn't this loud. what could be wrong?

Check the connections on the rack position sensor and rack solenoid -- it sounds like the idle system isn't working properly. Could just be a loose connection.

And check to make sure the fuel is flowing properly in the clear prefilter -- if you have a leak in the suction side of the fuel system, you may be getting air in the IP, which will cause rough idle, clatter, and eventually hard or impossible starts.
