1985 190D any good?
I've never really considered a 190. Too small for my taste. But I saw a couple of 190D's on e-bay, in particular a 1985 one. I've heard some say the early 190's were problematic. Can anyone shed any light on their problems?

I don't know of any particular problems with the early 190Ds.
The 2.2 with an auto transmission was fairly gutless, which would be a problem for my tastes in performance, but other than that the 190Ds were all nice cars (in my opinion). |
They are quite durable cars.
I have an EEEEEEEEarly 190D (motor No. 354). It is no more or less reliable than our family's 123 or 126 (both 617's). I really like the size and feel of the 201 chassis. I think that there is a thread about 190's, where I ranked prior 190's by year and desirability. Simply put, I would look for an 87 turbo, an 86 5-speed and then the other 5-speeds. |
