Doing rear end repairs

Noticed the output shaft seals of my diff were leaking, so ordered a set of seals from Fastlane (I did order a new pair of brake rotors too). Started tearing it apart tonight. I should have the axles out tomorrow evening. Looks like I need some emergency brake shoes too now. They're toast. But they don't look like a whole lotta fun to replace. Guess I'll actually have to read the directions on this job Anyone done this job? Is it a PIA?
Also, I now see there is a bit of wiggle when I grab the CV joint knuckles near the diff and push back and forth. Is that normal, or am I looking at worn bearings too? That may be why my seals are leaking.

Got it all back together finally today. Got the new seals in ok. Found out why I've always heard a low growl coming from the rear end though. My spider gears are pretty worn(darn things ONLY have over 300,000 miles on 'em ) But didn't notice any metal chips in the fluid when I drained it. The bearings seemed ok.
Also ended up putting in a new pair of shocks. Couldn't afford a good set of Bilseins right now though.
I'm taking the car in Monday to a shop for a right-rear wheel bearing. It felt and sounded pretty dry. They quoted me about $300 to do the job(for one bearing). Seemed like a fair price from what I've seen here on the forum doing a search. We'll be taking a trip in a couple weeks, so I don't want to have to worry about a wheel bearing going away on me out in the middle of Idaho.
I did get the emergency brakes adjusted so they hold, so I'll let that go for now too.
