AC Problem

My son's 1982 300D has an AC proclem. When the AC is on and cooling nicely, sometimes it will change to full on heat. After a while or upon restart it will (sometimes) revert back to air.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Joe & Josh

Search

Do a search on the forum under "monovalve" and see if the cures fit your ailments.

The monovalve is new per the PO. Will run the search.

Thanks,

Joe.

Joe................

Send me a private message with your e-mail address and I will send you a diagnostic bulletin that is pretty good....should help you narrow down the problem.

Pull the glove box and look behind it for a hose that runs across from the right over to the sensor that is located at the top center of the dash. It may very well be missing. It was a foam hose that disintegrates.

If it is gone, go to Home Depot and get a stick of foam pipe insulation, cut off a section and slip it in place.

Good luck,
