190D turbo in 1986?

I bought a 190D 2.5 turbo diesel last night. The title says 1986 and the build date is 5/86. I thought they were produced in 1987 ONLY. It has 150K, gold, and is automatic. It probably will be an Ebay car. I have a 300D 2.5 turbo diesel and it is strong running. I imagine the 2.5 in a 800 lb. lighter car should really perform. Ernie
