1984 300SD: Battery drain due to the fuse 15.

Dear friends:

I noticed that my 1984 300SD completely would completely lose all of its juice if I did not drive it for about 3 or 4 days. I checked the battery drain by sequentically removing each fuse and finally pinpointed that the culprit is the fuse 15 (8 A white fuse), which is responsible for the following equipments:
--------------------------------
-Trunk light
-Roof light front and rear
-Illumination vanity mirror
-Safety belt handover arm
-Door lights
-Automatic antenna
-Warning monitor term. 5 <=== exactly as shown in the fuse diagram
--------------------------------

I removed the trunk light bulb, turned off roof light front and rear, illumination vanity mirror, closed all doors, and disabled power to the automatic antenna. However, the current drain from the fuse 15 is always about 1030 mA (about 1 A, so it explains why my battery completely lost all juice after 3 or 4 days).

I suspect that the safety belt handover arm and the warning monitor term(. 5) are the real culprits. However, I have no idea what and where the safety belf handover arm or the warning monitor term is. Could someone give me some hints or clues?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,

Eric

The CD manual says that in an 84 SD, the following items run off fuse 15:

- power seats
- warning module
- courtesy lights
- antenna
- alarm

The warning module is above the brake pedal beside the cruise amplifier. Thomaspin's website has good pictures of this area.

Check for current draw with the alarm module and warning module disconnected. I suppose you should check the power seats as well.

I think the safety belt handover arm is the device in an SEC that offers the seat belt tang to the front occupants when they close their doors. Obviously not present in your car.

Try unplugging your antenna motor. It's a common culprit for a discharge
