Throttle Linkage Goof-up

After reading a few posts here yesterday regarding throttle linkage adjustments, I got jazzed at the prospect of making my 300D more responsive. I discovered that the pivoting joint located on the firewall had a bushing that was in the process of disentigration. Upon removing the cover for the bushing, the bushing itself decided to go ahead and crumble completely. Luckily, I have a garage filled with sundry junk items and I was able to fashion a new bushing of sorts out of my old shock absorber flat bushings. It works okay, but now my shift points are much too early and I cannot seem to gun the engine much. Is this merely a Bowden cable adjustment I need to make? I was not aware that simple linkage adjustments could throw things out of whack so easily!

Yes, Zoonhollis, it is indeed a Bowden cable adjustment you need to make. If it's shifting too early, turn the adjustment in clockwise (looks like CCW from your POV) to tighten the cable.

;)

I figgered it out finally, which is what I should have done by searching on the forum before posting a query.

I appreciate the many helpful replies, however. LOL :p
