clear corner damage

Drove my 350SDL the other morning to work and the burnt out bulb indicator lit up right at the start. When I got to work I got out and looked at the lights and this is what I found. I was pissed. Doesnt look as though someone back into it or something like that. The bumper sticks out and they would have had to hit that first. I don't think that it was done by a stone while driving because the edge of the headlight door is damaged as well. not so upset about the clear corner since you can get them on eBay for $40/pair. The headlight door cost about $80. That coupled with the fact that some dirtbag probably did this is what really pisses me off. I don't know how long it has been like this, I don't drive the car that often. Maybe I need to make it a habit of inspecting my MB's before and after I drive them.

I think you have it right. Some dirtbag hit you my friend. It may have been a truck with a little higher stance. His bumper could have been slightly higher than your and he just hit the light.

I'd have to agree, that's just about the height of bumpers or brush bar on some of the big SUVs. Chances are the driver who did that backed into you and didn't even know or feel it. Those things are great for the country but should be outlawed for city driving. Sorry about the loss.

Vandals!

Periodicaly, we have vandals making their rounds in our neighborhood.

Last trip through they splattered india ink all over the driver's side of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Time before that the little snots went down the street breaking out the left taillight of EVERY car on the street.

Back then I had an '85 Subaru wagon. A boneyard replacement lens cost me over $50. Believe me, I'll have Marlene and Lilly in the garage before too long.

Maybe its a sign from your God to leave the Motor City and head south, to the land of rust-free Benzes. (Like a nice silver E420 that's for sale down the road, for instance)

Seriously, I am sorry to hear that some dork (probably in one of those behemoths that Detroit has been making lately ) hit your corner light.
