Cool 250000 KM badge is now adorning my grille

I think M-B set a speed record with me. I've heard people on here talk about it taking months to get their high mileage award, but I think it took less than 3 weeks from when I sent the paperwork in. I was just about to walk out the door today when I checked the mail and sure enough, there it was. I wasn't even expecting it for another month. I immediately went out to put the badge on the grill (roughly in the center top-to-bottom, on the far left side). Looks great! In another 72K miles or so, I'll be able to get the 500K badge

congratulations, warden!

it sure brightens up that grill. i too got my first badge the other
day. took only about two weeks for them to reply. (not that
i'm complaining about it, but i do kind of wish they hadn't sent
screws to attach it with -- kind of makes it easy prey.)

i figure about another year (22,000) i'll get the next badge.

motor on!

Congrats Warden,

I just sent my paperwork out this morning so we'll see how soon mine comes in. Another ~46k for me to drive before I get the .5M. So are you going to update your side picture now?

The pictures are being developed as I type, although I don't know how well they'll come out...I was in a bit of a hurry, and the car needed (needs ) a washing and some polish/wax work...

I'll post them as soon as i get 'em, proably later today. I don't know if they'll be worthy of replacing my side post image, though...

Jist received my first badge last week. It only took 2 weeks. 271,000 miles on my 1983 300SD. Should be no problem for the next one at 366,000 miles.

My problem is when I hit the higher numbers ther seems to be no other badge that I know of.

I called MB USA and they sent it to me, I also heard of people emailing them for the form. Just take it to the dealer have them sign to verify the mileage then send it in to get your new badge.

the badges are 250,000km (155,000 mi), 500,000km (about 366,000mi), and 1,000,000km (6errr,15,000??? mi).

Problem is not many dealers know about it.

LOL, where does 366k-mi keep coming from?!!? FYI - 1mile = 1.609km => 500/1.609 = 312,500 (off of paperwork as decimal is approx). Other is around 621k miles. 155k is indeed correct. The person at my stealership acted like she never seen the form before.

When I filled out my paperwork last month I did not use a dealer verification. I simply put down that I do not use a dealership. They sent the badge within two weeks. No questions asked.

Some people just have had co-workers sign it as well and that worked. Also remember there is only one spot for the dealer to sign, surely they can't expect them to inspect every vehicle. I had my 84's mileage checked then had them sign, and soon later put my 83 on it figuring if I send it in why not get one for each.

My 250,000 M badge

I wrote the national office, then took the form to LP Evans, the rather snooty dealer. The workers there did not want to take the chance at signing it themselves, and I had to wait for the manager.

Eventually he appeared. He was rather haughty and only commented on the dime-size round chip in my car's windshield. I am pretty sure that I would have said something like "congratulations"or "looks good after 17 years" -- What could it hurt? there is always the possibility that even though I might not be a zillionaire, I could always inherit a ton of money and buy an SL someday, but he didn't say one positive thing.

I sent the form in and got my badge in two weeks.
