devac 1 vs delvac 1300s - oil analysis results
Hi,
This interval I decided to use delvac 1300, to save money, since I didnt need to worry about cold cranking abilities. Seems to me that the oil could go much longer according to the soot values, but oxidation both times has been quite high, around 70. Is this something to worry about / attempt to correct? Both are just about perfect, as I would expect with that milage. You haven't used up the additives in either one, and nothing was marked, right?
It would be more interesting to see what the synthetic looked like with another 3000 miles on it! Peter

No ring wear, no cylinder wall wear, no head wear, no bearing wear, viscosity is fine, soot well below limits, engine should run forever.

I'd be curious to see avg over 30K vs avg over 30K to see if there's a long term benefit to synthetic oil. With some reasonable change interval over 30K, of course.
I'm sure Delvac 1300 is good stuff, but do these results include the extended effects of having used Delvac 1? Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

Who did you use for the oil analysis and what was the cost?
Thanks. Len |
