update on my 83 300sd

I've now had the car 2 months and the more I drive it and work
on it the more I love it. What took me so long to get one of these cars? I've repaired the ac with some help from larry bible. I put a new exaust system on, bosal, changed how the motor runs, much better. oil, filter, tranny fluid, filter screen, got the aux fan working, rear end fluid, took out all the brake pads and lubed them to stop the squeeling, new o-rings on oil filter center post, new o-rings on oil return from air filter, new block heater for this winter.Thats about it so far, next is I've got to figure out why my temp gauge moves back and forth between the bottom and the top of the 80 mark, Its like it has a life of its own. I almost forgot, I had the front end alieghed and the steering wheel turned back to straight. all in all, I'm having a blast with this car. I think I've read every post back at least 6 months, so thank you all contributing form members, all your problems have helped me to understand what I think is one of the best cars ever built. steve lewis

I've bought both of ours in the last 6 months and feel the exact same way. I haven't enjoyed owning a car this much since my old Datsun 510 rusted away to nothing.
