trans

I have a 1987 300 diesel and I would like to replace the trans as it is slipping . I found a guy that has a motor and trans from a 1983 300 and neither one of us knows if it will fit can anyone help with this.

trans

mine is a 1987 300TD four door saden and his is 300td wagon

he says his is w123 body style. I'm not sure if this makes a differance "Clara"

Yes, it makes a difference. And no, it won't fit. By the way, if your 87 is not a wagon, then it is a 300D. The T in 300TD means wagon, not turbo.

The W124 300D was only available here in 1987. The OM603 engine was available in the 300SDL in 86 and 87. A slightly larger version (3.5 liter) was in the S class through 1992.
