Where can I buy an Exhaust Resonator on the Web (83 240D)?

The Exhaust Reasonator is between the Header Pipe and upstream of the Muffler. It looks like a Catalytic Converter...does anyone know where I can buy this thing? Mieneke wants $350 to put one on!!!!

Hello,
For an OEM resonator, try PartsShop first and other good places include thebenzbin.com, ***************. I usually find strange/rare parts at adsitco.com. However, I would suggest a stainless replacement from timevalve.com They make parts or whole systems and sometimes will do custom--all at prices better than Mieneke. Cheers, Andrew Seidel.

Just buy a chunk of exhaust pipe and have it welded in...as I hear the removal of the resonator helps throttle response and exhaust flow...and its cheaper to not buy a new one...

could always just try it without the resonator while looking for a source, you'll get a buzz at a certain rpm. with many old 240's there are plenty of buzzes and rattles anyway. so you might not even mind. if you do then you could get the resonator.

Carrameow,

Go to a exhaust shop that makes custom pipes amd have them Make a piece of pipe that you and install with muffler clamps. That way you can remove it later if you decide to replace it with a resonator.

The pipe shouldn't cost more than $5.00.
