Ways to diagnose a bad front shock absorber.
Dear friends:
What are the best ways to diagnose whether a front shock absorber is going down the tube? 1) Cracking sound from the front (what kind of sound?) 2) Pressing down and releasing the front fenders 3) Any better way? I don't have any experience working on suspension stuff. Thanks a lot. Best regards, Eric |

Uneven tire wear especially at centers, sharp judder when hitting potholes, poor stability during driving are all indicative of shockers going bad.

...and of course, oil leakage from the shock.

Try making stunt driver "S" turns in parking lot...... lay down some soda cans about 30' apart and slaloom between them as fast as you can.
When the car dips from side to side - your shocks are shot. |
