Antifreeze my A.C. compressor? (85 300D)

I couldnt get my new air compressor to take a charge and took it off. When I started to disconnect the ac compressor, I noticed a green antifreeze drip at the compressor outlet. When I finally got the AC Compressor off, out came green slime, can you believe it? What is the scenario going on here and what do I have to fix/troubleshoot/replace? The coolant level is not appreciably lower..
I cant think of even how this is happening.
Help, winter is coming and I want to get my repairs done early

leak detecting dye

Could the green goo possibly be leak detecting dye put into the A/C system? Or maybe A/C oil? The A/C system really has no way of mixing with antifreeze - there's no interface at all between the cooling and A/C - unless you have both a leak in the cooling system, and a leak in the A/C tubing in exactly the same place (highly unlikely - and you'd notice the cooling leak).
