New Motor Mounts = Unbelievable Difference!

Just put new motor mounts on my '95 E300D. I've only had the car for about a month and this is my first diesel.

It made a HUGE difference in the car! I mean HUGE! Especially at starting the engine, stopping, and idle. It was a classic case of "I had no idea how it was really _supposed_ to be".

The car is soooo much smoother now it is fantastic. Old mounts were totally collapsed, unbeknownst to me.

Now I know! I guess I'll be good for another 100K or so. These motor mounts, plus new struts/shocks, and new ball joints, and I am driving a totally different, fantastic feeling car.

Ahhhh.

Rgds,
Chris W.

Now add Sportline sway bars and perhaps the Sportline control arm bushings, and you'll be amazed at what it can do on a twisty road!

Ok, I'll bite...is there an add-on swaybar kit for a 1980 240D? Not that I drive in a way that makes sway a problem.....

There are almost no 123 performance parts. You might be able to swap on a 300D or 300TD sway bar, if they are larger (not sure if they are or not). The 123 was never even remotely considered a "performance" car, but the 124 and 201 can be made to do surprisinly well on the racetrack!

Back to your 95 E300D, Chris

Chris,

I've got the same year and model with 104K. Did you install the motor mounts yourself? How hard was the install? What did it cost? Thanks.
