IP removal tips
Hey Guys,
My father and I are in the heat of an IP R&R. I bought a nice rebuilt unit through Potomac German Auto to replace my old, dry, original piece that had failed.
On my W115 220D, I am having one hell of a time removing the bottom mounting bolt/nut from the triangular mounting plate on the IP. The IP is secured in place by these three bolts, and the bottom one seems impossible to see or feel. It seems everything (oil filter, motor mount, battery trayis in the way from getting a wrench in there.
What adjacent parts should I remove to do this properly?
Do I need a special tool?
