Red face R&R Vacuum shutoff 300D

Ok
A lot of posts on the replacement of the vacuum shutoff on a 300D, inculuding a nasty misfortune of scattering a motor.

So Exactly how do you do this correctly?

I checked the operation of the old one by watching for the linkage to move when the engine shut down but nothing moved. (The valve works but is leaking oil into the vacuum line) So much for the testing with a hand vacuum pump before firing it up. I take that all the motion is insde the injector pump (IP).

So what's supposed to move that you can see by applying vacuum?

I think I know where to find that German/Lepricon to get at those four mounting bolts, That's me.

I noted the position of the old shutoff valve, The Lepricon has removed the vacuum hose and the four bolts. Now turn counter clockwise and pull it out ????? Where from here?

I told my son if he didn't mind me scattering the engine at the tune of $5.K I'd give it a try, or he could spend his own money at a reputable shop for a couple a hundred. He want's to watch the German Lepricon scream in English. He has heard most of my English before, so have the neighbors.

Help!!!!!!!
