Kitty, Sasquatch, Sassy, Klatu

Name the Benz!

jassz 09-22-2003 01:22 PM

Ha ha! Good idea, but you forgot Sylvia! Two votes for that already.:p

Rick Miley 09-22-2003 01:24 PM

Sylvia.

Or, if the paint on the hood is as bad as that picture, "Flaky."

leathermang 09-22-2003 02:29 PM

You have to watch Randy... he is very SLICK.... he did not like ' sylvia'.... so he just accidentally left it out of the choices....

I think it should be called " Snowberry"... and then painted that color...

R Leo 09-22-2003 02:52 PM

Greg's 240 is named "Mr. Tifton."

Oooo, a boy-car! I had no idea you owned such a rare vehicle Greg. :p Cars are almost always girls. What colour is a Snowberry anyway? White? :D

So you want to talk about why you left Sylvia off the list RLeo? Some Freudian thing? Any history of Sylvia's mother thwarting your designs on her daughter by not passing the phone over to her, as the annoying operator says, "That'll be ten cents more... for the next.... three minutes", and you don't have a dime????:p :D :D You can tell us....

R Leo 09-22-2003 04:07 PM

Sylvia, Freud and Mr. Tifton

Mr. Tifton has to be a boy car...it's got a stick shift.

re: Sylvia
I certainly didn't make a conscious effort to leave Sylvia out of the poll. But, I know a woman named Sylvia that, well to be honest, gives me a cold chill so it probably was some wacky Freudian thing.

Pardon me while I get in touch with my inner child....

Rick Miley 09-22-2003 05:41 PM

Since this thread is just fluff anyway :o , my cars names are:

E300 - Big Smokey
VW - Lil Smokey
240D - Perfesser Leaky

They need not have a gender.

leathermang 09-22-2003 05:51 PM

Snowberry is an early 70's MGB color that I painted a volkswagen one time... everyone loved it...
It looks white in a parking lot.... but if you get near grass or trees it glows...
Miss Tifton will be this color as soon as a find an excuse to repaint her...her paint is way too perfect at this time... but on the other hand this would be the first time I had to do nothing except actual paint prep.... usually I have to bang out dents first...

MISS Tifton?? From what Randy tells me, you need to go check your anatomy. Or maybe he/she's had surgery at a transmission shop??? :p Somehow I don't think 'a paint job so the car will match her name' will be at the top of the list, all things considered. :p You owned a VW?? Does PEH know that? :p

240D - Perfesser Leaky
That is a GREAT name... Fits any transmission too. :p

leathermang 09-22-2003 06:36 PM

"From what Randy tells me"----I TOLD you Randy was slick and you had to watch him !

The Warden 09-22-2003 07:37 PM

My vote still goes to Sylvia. :)

BTW, I too have named every vehicle that I've owned (actually, the first two came from family members, so I used the names that had already been given to the cars). I actually kinda stopped with my old van (me and my dad kept good-naturedly arguing over what the name should be), and hadn't named the truck until one day when I wsa getting tired of not being able to make U-turns, and commented that the truck has the turning radius of an aircraft carrier. So, I named it after one. :)

Then, when I got the car, I decided that I should stick with the naval theme, but needed the name of a German mid-sized ship. Someone on here pointed me to a database of WWII German warships, and I picked the one that I figured best fit the car (also the one I liked). There's also some irony there, given what happened at "Nurnberg" (known to us as "Nurenberg") in '46 and '47... :)

The only thing slick about me is/was my fingers in this picture.

Warden

I was the warship guy. Heh heh.

Oskar fit. I wanted a German name. It was down to two: Oskar or Karl.

Oskar won.

If I had a Japanese car...I'd name it Mr. Wang :-)

Or the Renault Le Car for sale a town away from me...Pierre. Hehehe.

leathermang 09-23-2003 06:33 PM

What IS a ' Klatu' ?

Kylepavao2 09-23-2003 07:47 PM

Hmm

I guess its related to a Klatta..

Thats why I picked it..

Diesel..

Klatta..

Clatter..

I don't know...it's funny in my mind.

jassz 09-23-2003 11:18 PM

Okay, I'm obviously thinking of a different close encounter. :p

Anyway, does it bode well to name a car after an alien??? Even if it IS an import....:p
