83 300d cruise control

ok, i know this dogs been beat to death, but this one is driving me crazy!!! i need another techs. opinion.
car was just purchased by new owner. owner brought it to me with a laundry list of repairs. one of which is a broken cruise.

first i replaced the amp, this did nothing, thinking i may have a bad amp, i replaced it with one that i know works (off my personal car), nothing still. upon checking the electrical system i found pins 7 and 10 (actuator motor) open, i replaced the actuator with the one off my car.(because i know it works). still nothing. replaced the vss, and replaced control switch on the colum. all the conections are clean and bright, and yes the linkage is hooked up on the actuator. i didnt replace the brake light switch, but is seems to be functioning fine, checked the bulbs and they are 21 watt, replaced with new ones from mercedes anyway.

i took the 14 pin connector apart and tighten all the sockets, still didnt work. got out my schematic and tested the whole circuit, this is what i found.

checked all wires from the actuator socket to the 14 pin connector, all have continuity. then i went to the 14 pin connector:

pin #1= 12v switched with ign switch.
pin #2= dec/set 12v when switch is closed
pin#3= on/off 12v in normal position, 0v in off position
pin#4= acc/set 12v when switch is closed.
pin#5= clutch control output
pin#6= resume/off 12v when closed
pin#7= motor control output
pin#8= brake lite switch,12v with brake pedal depressed. grounded when released.
pin#9=feedback input
pin#10= motor control output
pin#11= vss, showing 940 ohms to ground.
pin#12= gnd, and is grounded
pin#13= feedback input from actuator
pin#14= gnd, and is grounded.

according to my information everything here looks good and this system should be working!!!
anyone got any ideas????
im about to start bawling!!! have been working on this thing for 2 weeks now!!!!
thanks for reading and for any input you may have!!!
matt

Not going to be of any help I'm afraid, but I can sure commiserate with you on this type of thing. You've done more than most could EVER THINK of doing.

Maybe it's time to get completely out, do something to get your mind off it entirely and then when you come back start at the VERY beginning, even the basics that you KNOW are "fine".

If that doesn't work, 5.2 grains of WW231 behind a 230 FMJ should do the trick on the bastard!
