Hi everybody have not been on the site for a while. I went down to pick and pulls three locations in the greater sacramento area. While there i was able to get a climate control unit a gauage unit with speedometer, one with the heat,oil and fuel.
Will these fit my 83 300sd?
Pick and pull is having a half price sale this week end so if any of you live in the sacramento area check out all the yards lots of good cars to pick over. Also if any one has a good drivers door for a 83 300sd i need one.

i seen this add, a guy in sacramento has a 1981 300sd not running, body is good (his words) 916-428-4133 ask for gary

p.s. do you have the names of those yards in sac. area?

Every couple of weeks or so I cruise out to the PNP in Fairfield. There's usually a couple of 123s especially diesels, but only once have I run across a 126.

Bill thanks for the info on the car will check it out.
PNP locations Rancho Cordova 11355 dismantler ct. sacramento 7600 stockton blvd rocklin 6355 pacific street. The location on stockton had 10 cars mostly 300d and a few 240d. the rancho location had 76 to 80 300sd and 3 or 4 300d also some gas cars. the pacific street location only had a 240d and a 300d.
where are you in northern ca?

Bill , i'm going to look at a 1981 300sd with 130,000 miles in the next couple weeks, any advice on what to look for?i see you have this model

i know about the basic checks, blow-by from the oil fill cap, clean start up and tight shut down of engine, also will test suspension for play and noises over bumps...........any thing else??? thanks

That sounds great low mileage is it a ca car? If not check the body for rust. Check the operation of the sun roof also check electric windows for operation. window motors will get some times stuck from rust on bearing motor from non use. also if oil in air cleaner unhook egr valve it will run much better. Also the paint has been a problem the clear coat will show sign of breaking down usually on cars that sit out in the sun.
I have 2 300sd 81 and 83 the 81 bad paint job clear coat gone but runs strong with 220000 miles the 83 with 175000 good paint job strong runining but with a drivers door that a post jump out and hit. My wife and i just love our 300sds
Well when you check that car out let us know what you find sure sounds good. Also take a picture and post it.

it is a ca. car and has been in the garage since new

i did'nt even ask what color it was i was so giddy:p , and has all the service records, i will let you know if all is true when i see it in person, BILL

When are you going to look at that car must be getting close. Were waiting.
Went down to look at that car you told me about, didnot get it.
It had blue interior and the clear coat was starting to go all tires were bald. Also some one had broken the driver side rear window out as well as the rear window out. What happened to the engine was that the oil hose from the cooler blew and the engine ran out of oil and start to lose power be fore he knew it. There fore it has a knock now. It won't work for me.
Any way if any one is interest in it he wants $200.00 for it.
