GI AutoSalvage in NJ (aka GI Junk)

Just thought I'd drop a line and you all know I stopped by there today. Nothing really good except for an 84(?) SD that still had some wood on the dash and someother parts that might be of use. It's alllllll the way in the back along the rear tree line -- if you know the place.

From what I can see not a real good souce for our cars. GREAT if you've got a domestic or a Honda.

I wonder where all the old MB go in this area.

Been there a few times.. decent place. Last year they had quite a bit of MB's.. especially euro cars.

Where in NJ is the yard. I live in Hunterdon County.

GottaDiesel 10-31-2003 12:36 PM

It's on 46 (west) in either Parsippany or just west of Fairfield (???)

"salvage yards" superpages.com... you get the picture. :)

Thank you. I will stopin next time I go by. Does the yard allow you to pull your own parts?

GottaDiesel 10-31-2003 12:50 PM

Yes.

Check out www.car-part.com You can search by specific part and state. It even has the names and contact info (again by state) of the salvage yards that are not on their system.

I'm a big fan of Potomac German Auto. Pat is a member of this forum and he knows his stuff. ;)
