BS. "Exempt" means DMV doesn't require the number to be reported. It doesn't provide a license to set the odo wherever the sleazy seller feels like it. What a dirtbag. I'd warn all the other bidders, if possible, if it's not a private auction. And also alert eBay about a fraudulent item posting.

I don't trust any MB odometers.

My first '84 300D (odo) was down for a year. I kept record of gallons of fuel used and advanced the odometer when I fixed it.

To me the issue is engine and tranny; compression and shifting.

One of the guys over here has a 240D with 355k miles and she is smooth and solid.

The guy responded back to me sevral times in a very vague manner and kept on wanting me to tell him what the actual miles of the car were.

When I refused, he told me to go play my games somewhere else.

Regarding the color of the various needles, I looked closely today at the needles in my 3 cars and found out that all of them have an orange speedometer needle while the other needles are yellow with some exceptions. Interestingly, my old 300D and 240D also have an orange oil pressure gauge needle, and both of my 300D's have an orange clock needle. Does this mean that none of my cars have the original speedometer & odometer or is this a case of random color fading?
