Unhappy intermittent heat/fan 95 S320

Heat coming from outboard vents only, then after about 5 or 10 min the fan comes online and everything works fine, Installed new Fast Lane fan speed control 6 months ago cause of a no fan problem. Now its acting really weird. 1995 S320, 80K (Way nice). Any ideas you guys? Does this car have a "monovalve" problem or a bad ground somewhere? All you MB techs are the best, I work for a major airline as an aircraft inspector, I get to see some of the best mechanics in the world and I would put MB techs and the car against any aircraft or Airframe & Powerplant mechanic.

I've seen an ignition switch cause a problem like this Doug.
If you can get in in a failed state, you'll see there is a fuse or two in the main (front) fuse box on this model, check the small "tips" on top of the fuses with a voltmeter, see if any are significantly under batt voltage. The one fuse I have in mind gets fed right from the ign. switch. Another test would be to gently rock the key back and forth (not enough to change key position obviously).

Climate control

Thanks Gilly, No joy on the key method and of course full power to all fuses. Its really strange, all of a sudden everything will work perfect, and when it does start to work, I cant get it to fail. The next day it does the same thing. Tonight it wouldnt come on at all, but I only drove about 4 miles. Eng temp is normal. I noticed that when system is inop the "rest" and the blue and red vent lighted buttons dont respond. So I just leave it on EC with the fan cont on hi and within 15 min or so it will come on full blast and everyone in the car says hooray!!!! Wouldnt you think that for a car costing $70,000 new, they could build a bullet proof heater? Anyway, thanks for the imput, if you think of anything else let me know, Im going out to fool with it some more
